Montblanc Signature for Good 2013

On Saturday February 23rd, the previous day of the Oscar Awards Ceremony, Montblanc held its anual charity event, as every year, with the attendance of a great number of celebrities from the show business, the new Hollywood, the best worldwide producers and, amongst them, the ambassador of this initiative and Oscar-winner, Hilary Swank, as well as other celebrities such as Rosario Dowson, Christopher Lambert, Peter Fonda, Alyssa Milano (UNICEF Ambassador), Michael York, Martin Landau, Jesse Metcalfe, Billy Zane, Mimi Rogers, Emmy Rossum, Jane Seymour, Clemens Schick and Natasha Henstridge amongst others, with whom we could see Lutz Bethge, President of Montblanc International and Caryl M.Stern (General Director and President of the U.S Fund for UNICEF).

Montblanc presented UNICEF as charity partner for 2013 with a brunch that was held at the unique Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles.

The new initiative “Signature for Good” was held for the benefit of UNICEF with Hilary Swank, who gave her support to Montblanc and UNICEF and shared with all guests who attended the event, her personal experience during her recent stay in Ethiopia along with Montblanc and UNICEF. A very moving short film on this visit was presented that showed the extraordinary work carried by UNICEF and their efforts to change life in Africa as well as the impact of Montblanc’s contribution over the last years through the donation of founds for educational programs.

During the event, the Montblanc “Signature for Good” 2013 collection was presented, which intends to collect a minimum of US $ 1.5 million to support UNICEF international education programs.

As a surprise performance, the young opera star and Montblanc Ambassador, Shenyang delighted all the guests with a stunning performance on the piano as a symbol of Montblanc’s commitment to provide children with a better education. Once the performance was finished, and to conclude the event, all guests were asked to show our support to the initiative “Signature for Good 2013” by signing bricks for a school specially rebuilt within the Bel Air Hotel.

I wish to thank Montblanc for letting me share with them this joyful and moving experience and, in this way, being able to support a good cause such as helping those in need and contributing with this to make the world better.

El sábado 23 de febrero, como cada año, Montblanc presentó el día antes de la gala de los Oscars su iniciativa benéfica anual con multitud de personalidades invitadas del mundo del espectáculo, el nuevo Hollywood y los mejores productores del mundo, entre ellos la embajadora de la iniciativa y oscarizada, Hilary Swank. Asistieron también Rosario Dawson, Christopher Lambert, Peter Fonda, Alyssa Milano (embajadora de UNICEF), Michael York, Martin Landau, Jesse Metcalfe, Billy Zane, Mimi Rogers, Emmy Rossum, Jane Seymour, Clemens Schick y Natasha Henstridge, entre otros, a quienes se unió Lutz Bethge, Presidente de Montblanc internacional, y Caryl M.Stern (Directora general y Presidenta del U.S Fund for UNICEF).

Montblanc presentó a UNICEF como socio de esta iniciativa benéfica para 2013 con un brunch que se celebró en el emblemático Hotel Bel Air de Los Ángeles.

La nueva iniciativa “Signature for Good” se celebró en beneficio de UNICEF, junto a Hilary Swank, quien prestó su apoyo a Montblanc y UNICEF, y compartió con todos los invitados que asistimos su experiencia personal vivida durante su reciente visita a Etiopía con Montblanc y UNICEF. Sobre esta visita se emitió un corto muy emotivo donde Hilary mostró el extraordinario trabajo de UNICEF para cambiar la vida en África y el impacto de la contribución de Montblanc, estos últimos años, en la dotación de fondos para los programas de educación.

Durante el evento se presentó la colección de Montblanc “Signature for Good 2013”, con la que se espera poder recaudar como mínimo 1,5 millones de dólares para apoyar los programas internacionales de educación de UNICEF.

Como actuación sorpresa, la joven estrella de la ópera y embajador de la firma Montblanc, Shenyang, nos deleitó a todos los invitados con una espectacular interpretación acompañada de piano como símbolo del compromiso de Montblanc de proporcionar a los niños acceso a una mejor educación. Finalizada la interpretación y para dar como acabado el evento se nos pidió a los invitados, para mostrar nuestro apoyo a la iniciativa “Signature for Good 2013”, que firmásemos los ladrillos de una escuela especialmente reconstruida dentro del Hotel Bel Air.

Quiero dar las gracias a Montblanc por dejarme compartir con ellos esta experiencia tan bonita y emotiva, y así poder apoyar una causa tan significativa como es la de ayudar a los más necesitados y contribuir con ello a un mundo mejor.
